Following last week's post on Configuring Preferred Sizes, another useful tip to increase productivity while modelling with Advance Steel Premium is to configure Default Sections.
Advance Steel allows Users to choose the default section
that is selected when a section is drawn for the first time.
This is useful for Advance Steel User's that always begin a project with the same section types and sizes.
For detailed instructions on how to configure Default Sections for all Section Types, please follow the link below.

Advance Steel Preferred Sizes
Modelling with Advance Steel a very logical and easy process however there are ways of making this process even faster and easier for Users.
Users have the option on configuring their favorite or most used Section Classes, Sizes, Materials, Coating, Model Roles, etc. so that these are at the top of the selection lists for quick selection.
Users will still have access to the entire International Catalogue if need be, however configuring Preferred Sizes will increase productivity during the modelling process of the project by making it easier to locate the required sections as opposed to navigating through a long list of components.
For detailed instructions on how to configure Preferred Sizes using Advance Steel Management Tools, please follow the link below.

New Pressure Vessel and Heat Exchanger Design Technology
Chempute Software are
excited to be able to offer our customers new Pressure Vessel and Heat
Exchanger analysis and design capability in an additional software package from
Intergraph called Visual Vessel Design (VVD).
Visual
Vessel Design also includes the sophisticated flange design methods from
EN1591 and EN13445 Annex. This enables users to easily design both standard
and non-standard flanges that can take into account external loading and the
effect of thermal expansion. This method also determines the flange rotation,
deflection, and calculates the minimum required bolting torque.
For a
limited time we are offering our current PVElite customers, who wish to
enhance their design capability, VVD for a special discounted price. This will
give customers two packages and a choice of capability when approaching design;
PVElite focusing on mainly ASME Codes like ASME Section VIII Division 1 and 2,
or VVD for designs focusing on Europeans Codes and when designing complicated
flanges.
Please

Stop Imagining, Start Believing
Laser Scanning to produce As-Built models is becoming a much more effective and popular method of bringing the Plant to the Engineer's Desktop. Scanning is more cost effective, accurate and safe as it eliminates engineers having to climb up high to obtain required measurements.
Once Engineers have acquired digital As-Built Scan data, what options are available to produce the deliverables they need?
Once Engineers have acquired digital As-Built Scan data, what options are available to produce the deliverables they need?
With CADWorx fieldPipe Professional, Raw scan data can be quickly and efficiently converted into intelligent piping components. CADWorx Plant Professional can be used to modify and add intelligent piping and equipment to the 3D Model. Bi-Directional integration can be used to export the 3D Model to Caesar II for Stress Analysis and Design and PV Elite for design and analysis. Isogen and PV Fabricator will create accurate vessel drawings and Isometric Drawing based on the analysed model.
A short video on this process can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
